Join us on our travels around Europe aboard our Dutch Tjalk Francoise

  • Jill Budd

After 6 years aboard our Narrowboat Matilda Rose in the UK, we took the plunge and shipped her across to Europe. After 2 years in Europe we knew we didn't want to return to the UK so took the plunge and purchased a 1902 20 mtr Dutch Tjalk called Francoise and are now continuing our travels of the waterways of Europe in a buxom wench

What about registering the vessel with another agency other than C &RT

Posted by contentedsouls on 14/01/2014

There are two ways of registering a Narrowboat going to the continent, the 1st is relatively easy and the the 2nd is not and very expensive.

Needless to say we chose the 1st option which is to self declare on the UK Small Ships Register, this is easily done online and at a cost of £25.00.

Here is where you apply: https://mcanet.mcga.gov.uk/ssr/ssr/
