Finished the port side hatches (still moored at Lumes)
Posted by contentedsouls on 12/07/2014
Well the rain held off long enough for me to complete all my chores and then settle down to an afternoon of painting. I have, at last, completed the port side and am now feeling all inspired to start on the rear doors. I’m just off to cafe Renee to practice my French conversation and play the daft English person – it would be rude to deprive the good folk of Lumes of their entertainment. I have researched my conversational gambits and have some of the right words but not necessarily in the right order.
Blimey, a narrowboat has just turned up!

Thank you John and Mo. I’m afraid I had to use the bird book as a reference – the little b’s won’t stay still enough for a ‘life’ painting. I wanted traditional style folk art but not roses and castles as MR is a modern semi-trad. So this was my take

Ta! Always on lookout for NBs we haven’t seen before and we’ve been out of France for over a year now – looking forward to getting back. Side doors look lovely, you did a great job. Enjoy the peace me’an’im xx

Thanks June. We had 11.45pm fireworks here in Lumes again last night (as we did the previous Sunday), but still a mystery as to what the stage and marquees are for. It’s 6.45 now and nothing happening – we were told there would be eating and dancing so I thought Bastille Day. Perhaps it should have been after the boules final yesterday, but was a write off due to the torrential rain (again). I rather like not having a clue as to what’s going on 90% of the time – it makes each day an adventure xx
